tafkathundernotes Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Well, here it is: The former JackC-owned B12L. It's just not getting the playing time it deserves and I have other priorities at the moment (GAS). I've had it for less than 2 years and have about 4 hours of playing time on it. This is a 2000 model. It's the basic black unit with pearloid octave-string tuners and Gibson-style speed knobs. Maybe Jack or some of the Carolina brigade can chime in - this thing is ridiculously light. (Lighter now that I removed all that brass from it) I can try to get an exact number, but I'll guess it's around 8lbs or maybe a little less. The pickups are Seymour Duncan Basslines passive soapbars which sound much better than the EMG's to my ear. I will include an unopened package of new strings. There are two small nicks (one through the paint) about 1/8" in diameter on the top side above the forearm bevel. They are not visible from the front. I can snap some pictures if anyone would like to see any specific details. OHSC in fairly good condition. Here is the one picture I have handy: Asking $850 shipped to lower 48 states. PayPal preferred / Postal M.O. OK too.
cmatthes Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Stop it, Brian! That is a SERIOUS bass. It is light for a b-12 too.
Jack C Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Man, I would love to get that bass back - especially with the new pups. Here's what it sounds like.12ver in action

Here's what it sounds like.12ver in action Well, there you are Jack! I've been looking all over for you. I sent an e-mail and a PM trying to give you first crack at this one. You do have right of first refusal - if you are interested. It's only fair.I'll try to call you this weekend (if your phone # is the same)edit: OK, now I just checked my PM's . Jack has passed on this one, so it's available and I'd prefer to keep it in the "family" instead of going to evilbay.
tafkathundernotes Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 Bump for the weekday crowd. Sittin' on the dock of e - bay........
tafkathundernotes Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 One last shot. Hope to keep it in the family.
cmatthes Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I Heart that bass. If I had some additional disposable income right now, it would be in a shipping box headed to Maryland. That is the nicest playing B-12L I've ever enocountered. No joke.
