Bennyboy-UK Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Letter of Provenance... even experts can get it wrong... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255474218608?hash=item3b7b733670:g:aewAAOSwT3ZiTTgE&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoBkUm09kHl%2Bum6fmQSMEwGPipsycqCh6IoCd9DA5zUJn%2FpBX1YvCS96lU4JVxNgddM6VTE9e%2BhCRWJmUEzp8E3uPVf8qAaNW6oGE2dyIq268rBZvJxP1HDm%2FyrVqfO2olpizjBGzYBFZXSrDiuMLtTNPc5rqWKwWOMfLBsxjLmKz8iXhfNKd%2BmVYKuveGGVI8DJsa4JvoVwpnkI521zjimk%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4j5kamRYQ I started to write a note to help with the inaccuracies, but thought nah, fuck it. Not worth my time and probably would cause the seller more trouble than its worth. Feel free to pitch in however...
ARM OF HAMER Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Yeah sell a guitar with loads of misinformation...................good luck with that. I guess I'm out of the loop regarding what Ritchie played with Bon Jovi as I was never interested in him or the group but just looking through the guitars that he did play I can't ever recall seeing any photos with him playing a Hamer and that guitar would seem to be a strange choice IMHO. But then again he did also have a Gibson L-5S "Richie Sambora Model" that also seems like a strange choice.
Steve Haynie Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 A point got broken off the body. That means someone should negotiate a better price. The "rarity" of a Richie Sambora guitar from the 80s without stars all over it might be why they jacked up the price.

In fact, he had a black Blitz and a flame top 3-pickup Standard that he played on tour in '85 and perhaps part of '86. Both of those had star inlays.
Biz Prof Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Correction: the Blitz had dot inlays, but I'm pretty sure he had at least one more Hamer with star inlays. Perhaps he had a second 3-pickup Standard.

Interesting I never would have guessed that, I remember the "Stars" guitars, seemed like those were common on many of his instruments. I remember the Sambora Gibson L-5S guitars as I owned several of the 70's Models they were fashioned after.
ARM OF HAMER Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Well what do you know........................he liked to take photos in that garage.
gatorbyte007 Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Ask lots of Questions ifyou are interested in this Guitar. I remember this guitar was owned by Rock Stars guitars. And I’m pretty sure the owner Greg Dorsett was the person to take the pictures of The Hamers. 15 years ago they were offered at 15k each. And I thought that they were reported stolen shortly after by Rock star guitars.
