JGale Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Seriously. Is that a "lens aberration" or is it just Fat©️?

Vintage Hamer prices have really gone up, and many are selling at the higher prices too! YMMV, but that's what I'm seeing out there. Clean early '80s Specials are starting to fetch $2-2.5K. Just what I've been seeing out in the wild... I think we hit a peak last year and prices are trending down. Looking at recent sales on Reverb, there are a couple of exceptions, including one very clean 1980 in Germany that went for $2,700, but 80's Specials are selling at $1,300 - $1,800. Sunbursts are harder to predict because there are so few sales. Crowned and bound Sunbursts always bring a premium, but a dot neck Sunburst is nothing more than a Special with body binding and a different headstock logo. Disclaimer: I've been wrong before and I admit to being biased by low historical prices.

ebradfordrich Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 So if ludicrous speed had a numeric counterpart, would it be $14,999.99? That’s twice today I’ve seen that specific level of stupidity. Yes, Firebird-x, I’m looking at you!
