Tortious Posted April 8, 2023 Posted April 8, 2023 According to Vai's site, this one was sold in 2018 (probably why the autograph date). https://www.vai.com/guitars/hamercustom-sv-hamer-w-monkey-grip-blond-finish/ I wonder how much it sold for then. Jeff R's explanation in this thread makes sense. https://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/84475-vai-put-all-his-guitars-on-his-web-site/ I also like how the auction states the case is 'original'. 🧐

For it and he laughed at the offer… I suspect the new owner is trying to recoup what he paid. And will never get it. I would rather have Jols instead.

Hamer repurposed a Chap and didn't pay their endorsed players. Ibanez didn't come up with the handle. Too bad the guy who did made very little money off of it. https://joejemcustomguitars.com/

I've seen Steve play, and I'm pretty sure he has 7 or 8 fingers on each hand... So, it remains a miscount fingers story then. The only reason I can think of the grip being useful would be for his guitar tech to take the guitar with a grip on stage.
