santellavision Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 SOLD! 2022 Gibson SG Standard ‘61 Maestro Vibrola I am the original owner. Bought new. I sent it right to RS Guitarworks to be Relic’d (Most of you all know their work, they are right up there with Gibson’s Tom Murphy lab) This is the 3rd guitar I’ve had them relic for me. I wanted to buy a Murphy Lab SG, but $5K for a ‘Light Relic’ and $7K+ for a ‘Heavy Relic’ was out-of-reach. So, I bought a new, lightweight ’61 Maestro SG and had Roy at RS Guitarworks do the complete nitro refinish (I didn't just have them relic the original paint, but completely strip it first) Then, refinish in a vintage transparent red and with full heavy relic, weather-checking, edge wear, hardware, binding, trem etc. I also had them roll the fingerboard edges for a nice ‘played-in feel’ (Relic’ing was $1,500.) I have had a few guys not believe it wasn’t old. Besides just looking cool, it feels great... worn-in and comfy. Plays great, low action, straight neck, no issues. Original Gibson Bustbucker '61 PAF pickups with upgraded RS Guitarworks pots and wiring harness. Lightweight at 7lbs 3oz. Comes with its mint original Gibson hard-shell case. I have a ton of detailed pics inside and in the sun to show how well this was Relic'd. Message me and can send more detailed pics if you want. SOLD! $2,500. Shipped/Payp'd. thx - ernie
BoogieMKIIA Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 I had a “real” one, maybe a 1964. Traded it for a 50w Marshall half stack, which was a great trade at the time. They are pretty guitars. GLWTS
Jakeboy Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 I’d love that guitar if I needed another dual HB…..GLWTS
cmatthes Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 That’s one of two Gibson guitars I’d consider buying!
