Hamer 30th Anniversary Model - Pinhole Finish Plague

Question

I became the newest owner of the Hamer 30th Anniversary #30 of 30. The guitar was rather dirty whenI received it; corroded frets, gunky fretboard etc.. after a good wipe down I noticed it has pinhole finish issues on the back of the neck, headstock  and Low e side top. The pinholes are over the binding, the maple top and the mahogany

Knowing the importance (and original pricetag) of these models, there is no way it left the factory like this.

Could the reaction have happened at the factory and gone unnoticed due to being filled with buffing compound? only to revealed later when some solvent was used to clean?

Could the sealer coat have offgassed over time, creating these pinholes in the Poly a few weeks, months after initial finishing?

Could the (cured) poly have reacted to something causing this?

Do any of the other 30th Anniversary owners have this issue? I know Hamer is known for heel finish, fretboard edge and nut area clearcoat lifting, but Ive never read about the pinhole issue.

My first thought is this guitar was hit by some sort of spray that reacted with the Finish, this has happened to me with some paints, they eat away the lacquer immediately on contact

If this was mine I would try a test patch, very lightly wet sand with 2000, then hand Compound ..

I'm sure others that are much more knowledgeable will chime in

I've seen similar caused by bug spray when people would put their foot on an vintage finished chair and didn't wipe off the bug juice over spray from the chair. It also made the finish "frosty". Buffing out the whitening until gone left similar micro pockets like yours.

Or Pizza Day!!

Those New Hartford finishes were pretty well out of the “Hameritits” years.

I haven’t seen that on another Hamer of that era that I can recall.

It's possible it's some kind of solvent pop that happened after it left the factory?
