Bluesking Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Howdy folks - up for grabs is a '99 Hamer 25th Anniversary in near perfect condition. It includes the original HSC with paperwork and case candy. Here's the story - I got this from a dealer in Florida who bought out another guy's shop. He found this gem tucked away in the inventory - it had been sitting in its case since 1999. Apparently, the first guy "saved it for a out of state buyer" after it had been in the store for a week or so. He then "forgot it was back there" until he sold out. It's obvious from its unplayed condition that the story is true. Other than some tiny marks on the back in the clearcoat (probably from the first couple guys who tested it out in the shop), it looks brand new. No Hameritus to speak of, except for the sides of the nut. Both sides have the same, symmetrical pattern so it looks factory, but I think it's just a little Hameritus that happened to occur in a way that enhances the look of the instrument.I'm looking for exactly what I paid - $899 plus $40 shipping to the lower 48. I'll accept a USPS MO or Paypal (only to confirmed addresses and you cover the fees). If it doesn't sell here, I'll be listing it elsewhere for more money. However, I'd love for this jewel to stay in the family and considering its rare condition, a HFCer needs to own it.In case you're wondering, this sale is really BCR Greg's fault. The 83 Sunburst he hot-rodded for me is the only thing I play, so this one just sits around and waits to be picked up.Pics up tomorrow, which happens to be my birthday. So, somebody buy it.I might consider trades, but it would have to be another Hamer, probably a B/C Sunburst.
hamerhead Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Happy Birthday!I wish I could take it off your hands, but I hate sharing space with the dog.Sounds like a great guitar. Good luck!
stef823 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I love these guitars. I had one and a P-90 version. I kept the P-90 version. I think I sold the wrong one.Howdy folks - up for grabs is a '99 Hamer 25th Anniversary in near perfect condition. Bluesking Posted May 19, 2007 Author Posted May 19, 2007 OK, since I'm feeling all giddy on my BDay, I'll cover shipping to the lower 48 TODAY ONLY.Pics coming around noon CST.
Bluesking Posted May 19, 2007 Author Posted May 19, 2007 The neck profile is "medium" - feels very much like my 95 & 97 Studios. I'm guessing the pickups are SD 59s - they sure look bone stock. From playing it, I would guess with a 95% certainty that they are indeed 59s. Here she is..........any imperfections in the pics are simply dust.
BCR Greg Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Happy Birfdaze, Meestah Smiff. And you were gonna sell that Sunburst, you moron.......
mykel Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 if the pickups are stock, i think they'd be a 59/JB combo. i'm pretty sure they went to both 59's when they introduced the artist mahogany as a standard model.
Bluesking Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 Hmmm...they sound like dual '59s to me, but I'm playing through a medium gain setup. If I had to make an educated guess based on the history of the instrument, it is probably the stock configuration of the JB/59.Either way, it sounds killer.Somebody buy this today and I'll still throw in shipping to the lower 48. Where else will you find a NOS 25th for less that 900 clams? What a steal......

What a steal...... Answer: Nowhere. I am trying to decide how angry my wife would be with me getting two new guitars. Wanna trade it for a Les Paul Special? Nice guitar though. If I decide to throw caution to the wind I will let you know. Otherwise I will probably have to pass for now, as tough as it is to do so. -Cheers
Bluesking Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 You could always pitch it as an investment piece.........or just buy it, compare it to the Gibson, then sell the Gibson on Ebay.
RickV Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Regarding the pups... could be 59'r/JB, 59'r x2, or 59'r/Seth Lover (bridge). That's what mine came with. I'm the original owner and tried a pair of Phat Cats in mine a couple years back. BTW... PC's sound great in that guitar. I would have left them in, but I already have two other P90 equipped guitars (93 Special, 55 LP Jr). I was surprised to see the Seth Lover in the bridge. Both are unpotted, which I don't particularily care for. Unpotted pups will make you clean up your act with your pickin' hand... for sure. My point is, don't assume the bridge is a 59'r or JB. I guess you won't really know until you check it.These are wonderful guitars and $900 is a great price for a mahogany Artist (with the 25 Ann. Sig.).Good luck with the sale.
Bluesking Posted May 21, 2007 Author Posted May 21, 2007 On hold pending receipt of payment............
