If you like the JB but it is just to aggressive, I would try the Custom 5 or the Custom Custom. You'll get tons of suggestions but the best thing is to just buy a couple of different ones and try them all out. Jim Wagner Pickups are also a good choice. I would start with the Custom 5.1 point

depends entirely on what kind of sound I'm looking for. Also there are some pedals these days that have a ton more options than any amp overdrive/distortion, and you don't need to blow down walls to get it.1 point
