  1. Dinosaur Jr.: the "Bug" album.
  2. Uncle Tupelo- Anodyne. The Clash- London Calling
  3. The Who- Tommy Sonic Youth- Sister
  4. The Stooges: Raw Power Bowie: Ziggy Stardust Stones: Exile on Main Street
  5. T Rex: The Slider Television: Marquee Moon Pixies: Doolittle Big Star: #1 Record
  6. I had a 3 pickup Eclipse for a while. It also had 3 mini-toggles that controlled series, parallel, and I can't remember what else. Interesting guitar, but a little complicated. My guitar instructor has it now, and really digs it.
  7. My most "dramatic transformation" from a pickup swap of all time: I took an XT Quilt top model and put Duncan 59s in it. That was my first guitar that I bought when I started playing again about 4 years ago, and I still think it sounds great (many Hamer USA models followed). I'll never sell it. Other than that, my favorite swap is likely the Wolfetone Dr Vintage in my Artist Custom. Love the tone on that one.
  8. I tend to swap pickups a lot. The Monaco Elite received WCRs, and both Artists (Custom and Korina) received Wolfetones. I won't touch the Melancon; the TV Jones do exactly what I want them to in that guitar. Also, the stock Duncans seem fine in the Phantom, so far. I'm still considering a swap for the DDs in the Tally, though I've been talking about that awhile and I might just let it be.
  9. I'm in the process of having a local builder put together a Tele style guitar for me, and I'm really considering putting 11s on it. I mentioned in another thread that I have 13s on a Hagstrom Viking, and that guitar plays well for what I do (in don't really do many Gilmour-esque bends). If the 13s on the Viking are doable, then the 11s might be right where I need to be. I don't care for the feel of 9s, 10s aren't bad. We'll see!
  10. Here is the Artist that has my attention these last few days. The Melancon and Artist Korina rotate in often.
  11. Stonge- I'm about to put together a Tele of my own. A local guy makes great guitar necks with stainless steel frets, and also does bodies. He's going to order some swamp ash for the body (it will be chambered), and the neck will be a Strat-style neck with a rosewood fingerboard. I'm going to have it routed Nashville style with three pickups, and I'm considering Bardens. Finish will either just be a stain or Tru Oil. I'm also thinking of a Strat trem...so this thing will be less Tele and instead just a mess of different things I want. Hopefully this will turn into an everyday player.
  12. So, what is everyone playing right now? My Artist Korina (with Wolfetone P90s) currently has my attention, along with my Melancon Cajun Gentleman (love the TV Jones on this one). I've also been giving a good amount of time to my other Artist, which has Wolfetone HBs and series/parallel wiring. All 3 produce tones that seem to hit my mood perfectly right now.
  13. Wait a second...Cheap Trick, Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden all-female tribute bands have been mentioned in this thread? I feel as if some kind of trifecta of awesomeness has been achieved today.
  14. Very nice! They should go on tour with the Iron Maidens.
