  12. BCR Burst was an attempt at getting an antiqued, mellowed cherryburst. At the time, I was told that I could have a specific color as long as I ordered a high number of guitars on a regular basis. That not being a problem, we came up with a few ideas for the color recipe. I gave them a list of color combinations, based on guitars that I had sprayed in the shop. This body had a defect, so it was saved from the bandsaw and striped with my various attempts at the color I saw in my head. As you can see, it has 59 Burst in stripes between the samples, so direct comparison is not affected by different woods or any given day's variances. The top bit was just Yellow trans over 59 burst, and it was not different enough. The middle bit was Antique Natural over 59 Burst. Still not what I wanted. The bottom is what I wanted. This body was returned to Hamer, and a whole slew of BCR Burst guitars started popping out of the capable hands of the Hamer shop maniacs. On a few visits, I saw the sample body hanging in the paint shop, ready to be consulted when needed. It's current whereabouts are unknown. The color is currently available as "59 Darkburst", politics ended all dealer exclusives and that was that. Some BCR Burst guitars are more "bursted" than others, some day we'll do a photo gallery of all of the genuine guitars. Nowadays, Hamer has been very accomodating in making one of a kind colors, and has instituted a policy of spraying a small wood sample of the color before the actual guitar is sprayed. I have a neat book of color samples of various combinations sprayed on different wood samples (Flame maple over mahogany, Spruce over mahogany, etc) that Hamer sent me a few years ago to help us show customers the actual colors, instead of relying on computer screen images. Great idea, and much easier than masking and spraying whole bodies! I am going to take this opportunity to say that Gary Pirro is Hamer's paint slinger. He is without a doubt one of the FINEST paint guys on the planet. Soon after he took the job at Hamer, we were leaning against a wall at the factory, shooting the breeze. He asked me about the BCR Burst color, where it came from. I asked him if he had ever seen a real 50's Les Paul that had aged and darkened from years of bars and smoke, but had not been exposed to sunlight and fading. "Never seen one", he replied. " I don't know shit about guitars, but I can paint ANYTHING!" True Dat. Every guitar that Gary has done for us has been EXQUISITE. Thank you, Gary.
  13. I have both. I gig with a solid state amp. It does exactly what I want. I grin, they clap, and all is right with the world. Your mileage may vary.
  14. What's fryin'?
  15. I occasionally use a Tech 21 Double Drive for gain, and sometimes my Rotovibe to make Steve's and my guitars seperate a bit out front. I DO use my delay in the loop. The gig determines the noise. Some gigs I use a bunch of stuff, some gigs I ignore the board.
  16. Welcome aboard, matey!!! I have had a few unique Elites made. Somewhere I have pics, I'll post them. Neat guitars. Here's my chambered Elite(the first one)... The pickguard was on with doubletape, as a joke. Guys would ask "Which Les Paul is that one?" You are gonna love it here!
  17. A quick Greg Howard story... (and there are a lot!) I just emailed him to say hello, haven't talked in a bit. I told him I am going to France witht eh Dolls and asked for any advice. His response... "Learn to love Ham and Cheese sandiches." HAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! He's the dude, that bagger.
  18. Nicely done. Black Hadware make the guitar.
  19. Good thing I have pics of Dave in the bath. With a tennis racket and a pizza.
