I never plug customer's guitars in unless they tell me to. I HAVE spent some time strumming this one unplugged, because it is EXACTLY what I wanted to order for myself. It is LOUD acoustically. I want it. My wife said that I can order one if I get rid of something. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Jol held one of the 6 cherry BCR Juniors at the Hamer Factory and said that it was a "Stripped down rock and roll machine". He was right.

A while back, brother Mark was kind enough to help me out in a peculiar situation, and I helped him the best way that I can. I helped him get the coolest guitar that he's ever owned.... Sadly, I only have this pic since it's raining. More tomorrow. Congrats, bud. Oh, yeah...... Seven pounds. HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

I just found some pics from last year's Mid West Jam at the Muse Cafe. This was in the pile.... It needs the bridge mod, now that I have got it up to snuff. I have no idea what Hectorp will allow me to surprise him with for NEXT year's event!!!! These guys were talking smack on all the NON Mirage players... Go if you can, much fun was had by all. The Muse is now my home in Chicago.

I've seen a few headstock cracks, and that one is way more than just finish cracking there! I'd say his guitar shop is stocked with idiots.

The routes are a lot bigger, and the original pickup mounting holes don't work, so I had to dowel in the stock holes(after pulling the brass inserts) and route to accomodate the Trisonics. If you look closely, you'll see the very edge of the stock triangular rout by the treble side of each pickup. I didn't want to route wide enough to take that out, so I blended a bit. Cheating is good if you win. The more you look, the more you will see of the work that I did. With Hectorp's guitars, I try to make them look as if they left the factory that way. Challenging, to say the least... This one was a big challenge, Rio Grande had to make the pickups specially for this guitar. These damn Mirages give me headaches!!!!

It is done, and it rips. That's a modified ABM Trem(I recontoured the bottom to clear the top on dives). Striped Ebony tuner buttons. Mmmmmmmmmm. Conventional 5 way switch with a push/push on the tone that brings the neck pickup in with the bridge, giving all three if wanted. The stock toggle is now a phase switch for the middle pickup, so the guitar now has all of the cool Brian May tones without the confusion about which switch does what. I'm not a Mirage fan, and I dig this one..... I hope the Midwest Jam crowd enjoys it!!!

Willie, I know what you mean about the weather! My right shoulder is the one that gets me, but a gallon of coffee and some time relaxing usually takes care of it. I played bass for a band back in college(more years ago than I care to ponder!) and found that playing it up high lead to lower back pain. With guitars, each guitar dictates the position for me. My Juniors and Burst hang low, the Hamer doublecuts a little higher, my Trussart Tele higher yet. Go figure.....

I just finished wiring it. Your life just got better. More pics tomorrow.
