  1. Congrats! A dozen years ago, I was in music retail and the little shop I was at used to do real well with the old ATS 120 half-stack. (Tube pre/ SS output head and 4x12 covered in black G.I. Joe hair.) It sounded suprisingly good at all levels, but especially cranked. I kinda' lost touch with the line after a while, when they started getting into the all-tube heads. I remember Larry Mitchell used to use that early high-dollar preamp of theirs with good results. Again, congrats on a cool line. Best Wishes
  2. Happy Birthday, MikeC!
  3. Hard to deny the benchmark author of clever rock and roll innuendo: "Goin' out on the town Just a me and you... Gonna have ourselves a party, just like we used to do... Nobody's playing Manilow, nobody's playin' soul... and no one's playing hard-to-get, just a good-ol' rock and roll..." RIP, Bon Scott...
  4. Holy Crap what a score! There was a stock version of the Cruise 4 with the EMGs. I'll try and dig out some info for you. After I got my Black Cherry burst 4, the store I was working at got one of those trans white 4s in, but passive. I would have loved to had the opportunity to get it, but there was no funds at all. What color p/g? ....jeez, $400 is a stupid good price for that. Congrats! Best Wishes
  5. an '86 TLE and "85 Phantom (that desperately needs a Kahler. When I got it, it had the mounting posts already, so I put the tunematic on and Kahler funds never materialized. SOMEday...) Headstock on the TLE and for grins, the TLE and a Duo Custom and Chap I used to have several years ago Some fine guitars in this thread!
  6. What a wonderful gift in a time of such loss... May the memories and love fill and heal the wounds. And, in the fullness of time, when you next meet, may that joy and love be increased even more... Peace to you and your family.
  7. Peace to you and so sorry for your loss. As you grieve, may it not be as though you grieve without hope. Best Wishes
  8. ..and just wait until you get used to it! I would really like to have a Gotoh version someday. They make a great, classic sounding bass, while the 2TEK adds some uniqueness to the tone. Be preapred to drop jaws for a while. And by all means, share the love and post some pics if you've got 'em! Congratulations, and the downward spiral is just beginning. Best Wishes
  9. Peace to you and yours Bill. May she rest in peace, indeed. And, may you find comfort in your friends, your music, and your memories. Let us know if we can help, sir. Best Wishes
  10. Glad to hear your son's back, safe and thrilled to see his Dad. I can't say as to how I'd react if I was in your exact situation, but from here I'd say quietly thank God everybody's still breathing and with you--then quit while you're ahead.... Then again, that whole thing would've scared the hell out of me. REALLY glad you two guys are back together. Best wishes
  11. God bless you guys. Here's to good news soon. Peace.
  12. Well wishes, man. That's scary as hell. Glad to hear he's one the mend and fortunate enough to be around still. Didn't he just get married recently? If so, best wishes for the Mrs. That'd be tough. If there's any way we can help, please let us know.... God bless. Dave
  13. Great score, Jaye! Those sound like great guitars. The perfect kind of guitar to keep you honest...just PLAY. I'll bet it sounds best when loud. One of my favorite tones was a P-90 Special into a McIntyre modded Bassman (think early Marshall...) into a 4x12 w/ Vintage 30s. Once you hit 8 on the volume, I understood the Malcolm Young groove thing better than ever. Again, conratulations! Best Wishes
  14. Sorry to hear about these challenges... May you all be strengthened and your love for each other grow stronger through this time. We're praying this time might be as peaceful as possible for you. Best Wishes
