  1. If it had one more fret, I would buy it. Most of my fans are bats and dogs.
  2. The quilt Chap is on Reverb for $3850. Adding about $450 for Kalifornia taxes and the $100 for shipping listed....That's like a billion dollars, right? (in high school, I got a 17 in math....is that good? My teacher said I was "special")
  3. There are not many guitars I wouldn't consider buying that have boomers. Unfortunately (or, in this case, fortunately due to $5K ) I was never a Tele guy. Speaking of punctuation....I remember in grade school getting this punctuation test question from one of my favorite teachers: Weve discovered deers tracks at the forests edge It was one of many questions on the test. I missed punctuating the "Weve" and it was the difference between an A and B+. I was the class clown and my teacher had a great sense of humor. I told her I thought Weve was the guy's name. She laughed, shook her head and gave me credit. Thank you Mrs. Jones of Park View Junior High! God Bless you and RIP.
  4. It has the tremolo cavity cover................totally worth it!
  5. The more I look at it, the more I want it. I definitely would have bought it if I had seen it in time. I have two green transparent Hamers, but this one appears to be quite different. Is that Sea Foam green or usual green with strange lighting effect? To the new owner: I hate you. Also, please let me know if you decide to sell it. 😁
  6. Ya know.....For those having an issue with the mini switches: One could plug the forward mini switch hole, drill out the hole closest to the selector switch, and install a tone control. Looks like there is enough room and it would be a useful mod. (I never had much use for splitting pickups). There are drill bits that are designed to make "plugs". A piece of flame maple from Ganahl Lumber, a little stain and clear coat, the plug would blend in. If I did not already have the same flame Cali, I would consider this.....but with a lower price offer. Beautiful guitar. Ya know you want it....it is calling your name. 😁
  7. When I got my first black Cali, I really wanted the neck pickup (PA-Single) to be less bright; but of course, no tone control on them. So I installed a tone pot, drilling a hole next to the volume control. Thought nothing of it at the time....Did not know that 30years later Hamers would be the next "collectable" rage. Later, I bought another Cali (Salmon/Flame) with same issue. This time, I installed a tone pot inside the control cavity that only worked on the neck pickup. No holes, no screws, no glue. I backed off the treble to my liking, replaced the plate back and got the warmth I was hoping for. I can remove it with very minimal evidence it was there....probably invisible to everyone except you HFC guys. But NOW, I have the ultimate fix for too much treble..... years of playing loud rock and roll. To my ears, all my guitars now have a warm, muted tone....and hissing noises. I think its called tinnitus. The posts above are interesting and expected. This is the Hamer Fan Club and "Fan" is short for fanatic. So, this is the place to jump into the fire and get your voice heard....and expect other opinions to be direct. Fan clubs have very passionate members....Try getting on a Corvette club sight and tell them about the Monster Whale Tail Spoiler you riveted to your stock 1967 Sting Ray! It will be brutal.....or "direct", if you will.
  8. These green ones are just tormenting you! I thought for sure when I saw it had sold, you would have been the one to grab it. Hell, I might have gone for it had it still been up for sale. Good looker.
  9. I don't think the neck PA pu is original. My Hamers from that era had unbranded PA pickups. Wonder what surprises the electronics cavity holds.
  10. This one came up on Ebay....begs the question: Was the sustainer truly a factory item or added? Switch location does not look ideal....splitter or otherwise. Thought there would be a batter compartment as on Chaps with Sustainiacs. Any insights. Couldn't attach photo. https://www.ebay.com/itm/126214727500?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28
  11. Its Granite? Well, crap then I do like it! I would have thought my D-minus in Geology would have served me better.
  12. Yeah, the marble is a turn off for me, as well. But my concerns on it was the "wear" on the back of the neck. Looks like it cracked and was sanded down to hide the issue. Non response from seller just makes me more suspicious. That aside, it still is marble.
  13. This marble Chap has been hanging around Reverb for a long time. I inquired about the neck/truss rod and electronics some time ago....no answer. Not going to bite on non-responsive sellers.....usually. Not that keen on marble. However, not every Hamer fan is as cautious or on Hamer Fan Club, so I am curious why someone hasn't bought it for the $2500 asking price. I have my reasons but everyone can't be as suspicious. There have been 4 offers and LOTS of "Watchers". Anyone here offer "Buy it Now" and got nowhere? I had similar experience with that flame green Chap some time back. No response...hit "Buy it Now" and bam....the guy came alive. According to Reverb staff, ads stay on for infinity if buyer is not answering inquiries or offers or is dead. They don't clean up their listings apparently. https://reverb.com/item/69253510-hamer-chaparral-marble-finish-1990?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsvP30I_iggMVVEpHAR3GQgq5EAsYByABEgL4uvD_BwE&utm_campaign=17682351984&utm_content=campaignid%3D17682351984_adgroupid%3D143800496052_productpartitionid%3D1946021698791%3Dmerchantid%3D757815397_productid%3D69253510_keyword%3D_device%3Dc_adposition%3D_matchtype%3D_creative%3D608998621633&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google
