  1. Funny thing, it looks like Jack's long-time Warwick endorsement didn't stop him from playing an EB-1 with the new Warwick EB-3 look(sort of)alike relegated to back-up duty. I haven't seen the concert DVD, so this is only what I've seen in concert still photos and read. I presume Jack played through Hartke amps and cabinets rather than Marshalls.
  2. Willie Dixon Muddy Waters Clapton I would invite Howlin' Wolf, but he and Willie didn't get along.
  3. My sincerest condolences. I lost my dad 8 years ago on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving; the holidays haven't been the same since.
  4. Good Lord, that's elegant! Somebody'll be grinning from ear to ear.
  5. If the thread doesn't interest me, I don't open it. If I read something I don't like, I move to another thread. It's easy. I find a pissing contest amusing every now and then.
  6. My band is getting ready to hit the studio to make another CD. We are a traditional blues band and we are debating whether to go digital or analog. We have access to tape should we decide to go that route. Our first CD was recorded live at a club and was done digitally. Unfortunately, the fellow who engineered it passed away suddenly so we're looking for a new studio. My personal opinion is that the engineer is more important than the medium but a couple of the guys are worried that a digital recording will be too "sterile." It seems to me that a good engineer with a good ear will have more flexibility if we go digital but I'm having a hard time convincing these guys. If any of you can help me out, I'd appreciate it.
  7. Somebody mentioned that LS won't let Artemus Pyle in the band for some reason. I don't recall the details, but he's a sex offender of some kind. That might have something to do with it.
  8. Your check, as they say, is in the mail. 1 black XL and 1 purple XL. Please send the shirts to the address on the check.
  9. We play a suburban Minneapolis bar which shall remain unidentified. Years ago, there were a lot of wannabe amateur strippers who hung out there and they used to entertain us while we were entertaining the rest of the patrons. I was married for 20 years and I swear I saw more T & A in that bar than I ever saw at home! I don't know if they were morons or not, but they sure worked hard and went home with no tip money...
  10. I play all my basses at rehearsals and gigs as well as practicing, but #1 by a very slim margin is my mutt, mahogany bodied, franken-P-Bass clone with a Fender "Original 62" pickup, MIM Fender hardware and a $20 e-Bay neck. It plays great, sounds fabulous and never needs truss rod adjustments; hell, I seldom even need to tune it because it is so stable. My 2-TEK Cruise is a close #2 and, if it weighed a couple of pounds less, it would easily be my #1. It is the best bass I've ever owned and it is definitely my best sounding bass...my bandmates LOVE it. The Reverend is a close #3 and my fretless MIJ Fender Jazz is #4. My Kay 1/4 size upright is a very, very, very distant 5th but gaining.
