nosajwp Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I have a custom order '92 Centaura (that's about 1/2 Centaura, 1/2 Vintage S) that was made to order for Frank Rindone, product manager of Hamer guitars, which I purchased from him through BCR Greg. I've got a serious case of GAS for a EBMM Petrucci 7 w/piezos, and this would have to go for me to get it. Here are the specs:- bookmatched swamp ash body in Aztec Gold- birdseye maple neck w/24 fret Pao Ferro fingerboard and offset dot inlays- non-reverse headstock with "stadium" logo- black hardware- Vintage S electronics (Duncan JB bridge, Duncan SSL-1 mid/neck, EMG HEQ-E on-board active 3 band eq/boost)Comes with OHSC, case candy, and trem arm. Case is in excellent condition, and guitar is in as-new condition. I'm hoping to cash in on some of the recent success of Hamer bolt-on sales on eBay to help fund the JP7. If anyone is interested, please email/pm me, and I will accept offers and send pics.
sw686blue Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 If you want to take offers, I suggest you put it on E-bay. Else, post your price here. Pretty simple I think.
silentman Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 $750 would be a steal. Vintage S would run you about $900-$1000 generally. Flame body cali's slightly higher. Nothing seems to be selling round here lately and there have been bargains. I say throw it on ebay, you'll wind up with more cash in your pocket, I'd bet. Email/PM me for a dealer that has great prices on EB's... It'll save you $, and I think he has at least 2 JP7's in stock now so you won't have to wait... He's the cheapest I've seen and I just bought a JP6 from him less than a month ago.
Craig S Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I got $500 for my 92' Limit Edition Centaura on Ebay w/a gig bag in excellent condition. Mine was similar with a non-reverse headstock, active boost and stadium logo. I saw a candy blue one bring 500.00 also. If they are unique and not to metal looking they seem to bring a little more otherwise they seem to be in the $400 or less. $750 might be a stretch because it's still a Centaura and not a Vintage S but you never know given it's uniqueness. I would also say don't waste much time here(sorry guys).. Give em' a chance and then move on if you want to sell it. Centaura's are great guitars however, best of luck.
atquinn Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I agree that $750 seems a bit steep for here, but you might be able to get that from eBay, especially if you are willing to ship overseas. Of course, if it does sell for $750 on eBay, I think you'll only see around $700 of that (if you accept PayPal anyway).-Austin
black magic Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Hey man, I have had better luck on Ebay as of late selling Hamers than on this site. This isn`t a knock on this site as I love it, but things doesn`t seam to be moving well lately, and that seams to be normal on al lof the music sites. I have been trying to sell my 2003 Hamer Sustain Block Special and it has gotten very little interest, even with the "make me an offer" thing going on, it`s like it has leprosy or something.I am taking her to Ebay shortly I fear. Good luck bro-Jack.
nosajwp Posted April 26, 2006 Author Posted April 26, 2006 I have pics available now if anyone wants me to send them. I may try eBay if no luck here. I don't do Paypal, because a friend of mine had his account number stolen through their system, so I never have used it.I would also entertain trades + $$$ for a Vintage S or flamey Cali's.
nosajwp Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Have at it!http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=7411478504
atquinn Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Proving once again that eBay is the place to go if you want to get top dollar. Bigger market often = bigger sale.
nosajwp Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Man, that thing got swiped fast! Fastest auction I've ever started. Should have asked for more money!
Craig S Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Must have been the Vintage S stuff. I got $500 out of mine and had to work pretty hard to get it and it was worth every penny... great guitars. Mine was really clean also. Necks are too thin for me however. Congrats
GusS Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 what's the difference between the vintage s and the regular centaura electronics?
atquinn Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I thought the Centaura's just had a miniswitch that gave a mid boost. T62's and Vintage S's had a 3 band active eq with a variable gain boost.-Austin
Craig S Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 My Centaura had an active mid-boost that was powered by a 9 volt battery. I think some had a passive "fat switch" that messed with the treble bleed off or something. I think the active system could have been modded to Vintage S type eq with some parts and know how. i think the PC board migh have been the same.
