Bennyboy-UK Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Hello all, Are there any HFCers who currently reside in Nashville? I’ve spotted a guitar I’m quite into but wanted to see if there might be a local contact I could cheekily bother to potentially assist with getting a deal done! Best wishes, Ben. 2 Quote
velorush Posted January 2 Posted January 2 @murkat was the only Nash Vegas resident I knew of, but I understand he up and moved to the Carolinas. Quote
Steve Haynie Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I like road trips, but Nashville is a long way away, six hours in each direction. It is not impossible to drive in and out to pick up a guitar. Someone has to be closer, though. 1 Quote
Bennyboy-UK Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 Cheers boys - I recall that most of the classic HFC members who were in that locale have since migrated away. There is no way I’d make you a days round trip @Steve Haynie - thank you very much for your kind consideration though!!! 1 Quote
Steve Haynie Posted January 3 Posted January 3 If I can make an eventful trip out of the ride to Nashville, it is not too much to ask. Sometimes I need an excuse to get out and do something. What are you trying to pick up? 2 Quote

Ironic as it seems the entire country is moving TO Nashville. Maybe that's part of the reason they've moved away. I'm 2.5-ish hours away and do everything in my power to not make that trip. If I could be dropped at particular parts (namely, Walter Carter Vintage Guitars, Corner Music and Maggiano's Little Italy) and then whisked back home, I would go frequently. I-40 (the "Music Highway" Memphis to Nashville) is ridiculous. It should be six-laned: bumper to bumper with people doing either 100 mph or 50 mph; nothing in between. [/rant] That said (and copying Mr. Haynie), what are you trying to pick up? Edited January 3 by velorush 2 Quote
Saul Goodman Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Property crime: Property crime is a major issue in Nashville, with a 14% rise in 2024. Auto thefts have been a significant part of this increase, with nearly 6,000 auto thefts reported in 2023, a 75% increase from 2022. Rape: The rate of rape in Nashville has increased by 24%. Crime rate compared to other areas: Nashville's crime rate is higher than the national rate for both violent and property crime. It also has a higher crime rate than similarly sized metro areas. 1 Quote
Bennyboy-UK Posted January 4 Author Posted January 4 Hey boys, this is the thing; a tatty old Luke 1 which however appears fairly cheap and includes it’s case. I’ve not contacted the seller yet as I know from experience that being contacted by a foreigner - me (:p), can appear very scammy - without a plan! https://nashville.craigslist.org/msg/d/nashville-ernie-ball-music-man-luke/7811540954.html What do you reckon does it look reasonable or a nail? Cheers all, Ben. Quote
