I would ask all the questions. $500, if it's legit... this could be a great score. And yah, I'd clean off that autograph, make it as factory fresh as possible but that's just me.

That devalues the instrument and can prove to be difficult if not impossible for the next owner to remove it. I have never understood why people do this. This guitar was ridden hard and put away wet for sure.
