Dave Scepter Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 I'm definitely much too old for this shit, I just keep thinking, look at all those stupid people and hope this is not the direction our world is coming to... but then again, I've never seen so much Camel toe/Moose knuckle on Facebook in my entire life I digress 🤣 1 Quote
Brooks Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 Slipknot hits me the same way that Slayer does, meaning that I don't like 96% of what they do, but there's a small contingent of tunes that are less intense than the rest, and those are actually pretty good; 1 Quote

Slayer has that same limited scope of appeal with me. Quote

They are so much more percussive and raw in concert. So many percussionists beating on all manner of stuff. The guitar parts are not "Radio" polished but harder hitting. And of course the vocals are amazing live. Compare the version of, "Wait and Bleed," Live below (yes, I found the complete concert and will be listening to it tonight when I fix dinner) to the one you posted above. Quote

I heard just enough back in the late 90's/early 2000's to know I wasn't interested. I liked Jim Root's stuff with Stone Sour and Mick Thompson has decent taste in guitars but outside of that? Meh. 1 Quote
