veatch Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 (edited) Used to have a good setup for recording - scrubbed it and sold it (mostly) all off about 10 or 12 years ago. Found out that I still had active licenses on the software, and you don't need a monster system to do this stuff anymore. My meager Mac Mini is enough... So... Quick take - got the drums, bass, and vocals from Moises. Everything else is guitars - two continuous takes for left and right (not first takes, but continuous - intent was to be what would this sound like live in the band). Solo was a separate take. A lot that I hate, but I will say - mixing with today's tools is a sh*t-ton easier than it used to be : ) I'll take any feedback on what can be better. Link to .mp3 - RebelYell.mp3 Link to .wav - RebelYell.wav Signal path is stoopid simple: Sennheiser 609 to an SSL 2 into Logic. Everything else is plugins. Edited December 23, 2025 by veatch 16 Quote
Saul Goodman Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 Sounded great, Jeff. Needs some Live at Budokan style, Little Japanese Girl Screaming, mixed in to make it. 1 3 Quote

hamerhead Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 Does Moises allow you to change pitch? 1 Quote

RobB Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 Sounds great. I kind of miss the low string, pinch-harmonic chirps though. They give the backing tracks an aggressive character. Well done! 1 Quote
veatch Posted December 24, 2025 Author Posted December 24, 2025 I think they're in there, just buried in the mix. That's one of the things I wasn't happy with is losing the left channel guitar as much as I did. Thanks for the feedback! Quote
cmatthes Posted December 24, 2025 Posted December 24, 2025 Well done! I dig it. What were you playing for that track? Quote
veatch Posted December 24, 2025 Author Posted December 24, 2025 Shishkov #0053. I may retrack some of this with #0100 and the maple Cali. 4 Quote
