Over the holidays, I ended up buying a Fender Thinline Strat and an Adrian Smith Jackson.

I sold a Jackson MJ Rhoads to pay for the Fender then immediately regretted only having one Jackson. I’ve owned one of these before but always really wanted this color scheme. This one feels much better than that one to boot, and I forgot how versatile they are. I can also say that the neck feels nicer than the USA Charvel Selects after owning a couple. Supposedly, those come out of the CS too, but the fret board rolling on this is much, much better.

Very nice, Jason! I almost snagged one of the AS Jacksons at a Reno pawnshop in 2017. They wouldn’t budge on the $1500, so I walked.

That semi hollow strat is on my want list..

Enjoy both of them..

I'd been wanting one since the EJs came out. I guess this run of American Pro II thinlines wasn't all that popular because they were as low as $1200-ish before Christmas. I think it's pretty much the same guitar as the EJ with 22-frets and different pickups. The neck feels more like a soft-V to me, which I didn't even notice until last night after playing an actual C-shaped neck for a while, than it does a "Deep C," as Fender says. That would make it like the EJ. At least the one I have has a bit of a point as you get up the neck and feels a lot like the soft-V on the all-hog Tally I have.

I guess the pastel colors and tortoiseshell pickguard was really polarizing, but I love all of those easter-egg colors Fender does. Throwing a mint pickguard on if I just had to seemed a small price considering what I paid for that thing new.

Those are both nice!

I was intrigued with the hollowbody Strat thing, and played a few when they came out with the EJ model several years back.  There’s definitely something cool about it.   I dig ‘em.

During the pre-pandemic era (whenever that was?!) I had a body made for a future project, that will hopefully see the light of day soon.
