That's really cool... I'm gonna try this out on a few SD Invaders that I love the sound but been meaning to change out the Pole pieces because I just don't like the look of those giant allen screws...

Not exactly the same thing, but you can get somewhat the same result if the two coils are wired in parallel rather  than series. Which is to say, a softer tone and no hum.

If you want to get carried away a bit, install a 3 way switch on each pickup, wired to allow SC, HB Series and HB parallel tones. That makes for a very versatile guitar IF you have a use for multiple tones on a single instrument.

Not the same thing as removing all screw poles. But probably a better sounding pickup: The Dimarzio Bluesbucker. 

Also, you don't look like a dork on stage; the guy playing a mongoloid humbucker without screw poles.

If you're bugged by the look of empty holes, source 5-40 fillister head screws made from a non-magnetic or very weak magnetic material.

Aluminum, brass, titanium and marine Grade 316 stainless steel immediately come to mind.
