This one hurts me for some reason.

By 'famous maker' decal, I'm assuming you don't mean Ibanez, correct? :(

By "hurts me" I assume you mean "makes me want to whip out the check book and send some cash to Minneapolis", correct?

And, yes, err, no on the Ibanez question. Damn those pesky Fullerton lawyers!

Sorry for the sale,

how do you like the stainless steel frets?

No need to be sorry, I'm moving it to make room on the bench for a new project and trying to recoup most of the parts costs.

Since I bought my first Warmoth neck with stainless steel frets, I ordered 5 of the next 6 with them. The only reason it wasn't 6 of 6 is that Warmoth won't do stainless steel on a neck with pearloid binding (yes, there will be photos soon).

To me, stainless feels just a bit more "slickery" than standard fretwire when you perform an obsessive polishing ritual on it. I use micro-mesh pads, 7-8 steps from 3200 to 12000 grit. The ss frets also seem to hold the polish longer.

I understand that they will eat fretting tools. On the other hand, you may never have to recrown or level them, so that's not an issue for anyone other than the original installer. I've heard that some players percieve a "pinginess" with ss frets. I've never heard it, but then again, I used to play in small clubs with a 100 watt Marshall stack and an SVT bass rig behind me, so the "pingy" register may no longer be within my aural capabilities.

Great looking guitar! I love the guard color on that color of body-

The neck is gorgeous!

Thanks!

The pickguard is a genuine Fender part!

Not trying to be overly promotional here, but the photos of the neck do not do it justice. The quilt is intense and very 3D.

To a lesser extent, the photos also de-emphasise the grain on the body.

What is this "polishing frets" procedure you speak of?

It's what I do to compensate for lack of playing ability.

Here's the "Money Shot":

BTW, I made a mistake in the description - the tuners are Kluson split shaft models. These are the same ones Fender uses on the CS guitars.
