atquinn Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I didn't expect to be selling this until my custom Hamer came in, but I unexpectedly got in a Cali this week and my self-imposed one-in/one-out rule is in effect so... This is a 1992 Diablo in great shape with only light fret wear. There are some light dings and scratches on the body, but because of the natural finish, nothing shows up in pics. The pickups are an SD Parallel Axis Trembucker I in the bridge and a Dimarzio Bluesbucker in the neck. And speaking of the neck, there seems to be this perception that Diablos are the Hamer shredders with the chunky necks. Well, not this diablo. I've had 3 Cali Elites and a Diablo II and this Diablo ties with my current Cali for shallowest neck. I have no problem with it, but if you're not a fan of shallower necks, stay far away from this . Here are a couple pics (more are at http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v157/atquinn1975/Diablo/): The price is $400 + shipping (money order preferred/PayPal's fine if you pay the fee). Thanks for looking. -Austin
Guest Meshuggah Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Aw geez. Now I hate you too. I don't need a shredder, wouldn't know what to do with one. That is vera, vera purty mon!
MCChris Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Playing that purple Hamer at the last Minneapolis jam reminded me how much fun a Floyd could be. And I love natural guitars. But I passed on a NOS Centaura years ago because I could not deal with that shallow, flat neck profile. I'm guessing this Diablo has a similar one.Good luck with the sale Austin! Nice price for a cool shredder. The reverse headstock is key!
atquinn Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 The reverse headstock is key! ! I actually hate how reverse headstocks look, but I made an exception for this guitar (the only reverse headstock guitar I've ever owned). I don't need a shredder, wouldn't know what to do with one. It's easy. Just put your left hand up high on the neck and move your fingers fast. At the same time move your right hand fast (coordination between the too hands is useful, but optional). Good taste and "feel" are to be avoided at all costs. -Austin
BCR Greg Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 You forgot the faces that you have to make, and that you have to learn to dislike all other guitarist's playing.
Guest Meshuggah Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Yeah Yeah yeah. It's still a gorgeous guitar. I too, vera much like natural finishes.Don't leave it here too long. Go for the BigBucksByTheBay!
Travis Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Curse that shallow neck. I wouldn't mind getting another Diablo some day. I kind of miss my old one. And that natural finish is pretty sweet. But I just have this thing for thick, chunky necks. Good luck with the sale.
DEMENTED Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I still want it Austin...just trying to find the funds...you don't need a custom built cab do you?
atquinn Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 I still want it Austin...just trying to find the funds...you don't need a custom built cab do you? Umm, I'd need to get an amp first

I teach a seminar in that.. I have the hating other guitarists thing down, but I could use some help with the making faces part. Maybe I should check out some John Mayer videos . At any rate, the Diablo is SOLD PENDING PAYMENT! -Austin
