dmachek Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Hello,I am new to this board and am looking for a used Artist or Artist Custom. It must have a medium/modern neck as I am not crazy about the vintage neck profile. It looks like from some of the other posts on this board that means a mid to late 1990's Artist???Thank you, Dave
Guest pirateflynn Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Look here.Is it really under 7lbs with the case? Amazing!"1999, Vintage Korina, #35 of 35, Under 7 lbs w/case"Very cool guitar.

dmachek Posted September 26, 2006 Author Posted September 26, 2006 Thanks Greg, but I'm set on an artist or artist custom and not an artist korina or artist mahogney
BCR Greg Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Thanks Greg, but I'm set on an artist or artist custom and not an artist korina or artist mahogneyLook close. It's one of 35 Artist Custom KORINA guitars. Predates the typical unbound Artist Korina guitars. This run made the current guitars possible.Try to get one made, and see what it would cost if they agreed to make it. Back then, it was $4k.
currypowder Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Look here.Oh man, oh man, oh man. I really wish you hadn't posted that. If someone would just buy my Phifer, that would be mine.

Amazing!"1999, Vintage Korina, #35 of 35, Under 7 lbs w/case"Very cool guitar.Hell yeah.I saw that one Greg. Last week a dood from another guitar forum decided it was time for a double hummer guitar. He wanted to spend about what a LP Standard would cost. Naturally the folks there came up with goofy shit like Gibson and PRS, but I tried steering him toward this guitar, or a used Artist Korina that another online dealer had. Both would have been cheaper than his budget. A day later he was proudly posting pics of a brand new Gibby LP Standard.
Travis Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Greg, check your email. Or you could provide some more info here. I just asked about the pickups, neck profile and balance of the Artist Korina Custom. Thanks, buddy.

atquinn Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 Austin, The ebay auction already ended DOH! That's MISTER Unobservant to you! Sorry about that.

I just asked about the pickups, neck profile and balance of the Artist Korina Custom. Thanks, buddy. The pickups are Gibson 57 classics, I believe, the Seth's didn't make it long in this guitar. The balance is great, pearloid buttons help that. Med/chunk neck, really woody tone and great for clean to outright nasty.Creme binding on Korina is bad ass.
bobbymack Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 dmachek, check your email re: '96 Artist Custom from a fellow Jenkintowner....

If only it had a fat Vintage carve neck. I might think about trading off my AK for the custom. Oh well, maybe I'll just have to order one of those some day. Good luck with selling it. I'm sure it will make someone very happy.
BCR Greg Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Travis, call me. I have two vintage carve necks in here and this one feels pretty much the same....
