Jimbilly Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 The real thing, I think it's 98% original, sunburst with rosewood fretboard. He's a total straight-shooter to deal with, and a Fender expert so he can and will tell you exactly what (if any) issues there are with it. I've played it a couple of times, I'm always pretty awed by it. He's supposed to be sending me some photos. I believe he's asking $22k email me and I'll forward it along jimchristensen at yahoo.com
cloakerz Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Wow. I am gassin for that, but don't got 22k. Awesome axe! I know someone who has a 57 strat and uses it weekly for gigging.
santellavision Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 They should be played. I used to play my '59 Strat out and now I play my '66 335 all the time. Not to dis your buddy's guitar, it's absolutely beautiful, but I prefer guitars that have been played. There's a vibe and playability you get that you don't get with "closet clean" guitars.
Guest pirateflynn Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Love that Slab-board!Good price, too. Any issues?
Jimbilly Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 Greg, I'll ask him to call you if you'd like, what's a good time for you? Ken, I don't think it has any issues, it does have some wear on the back of the neck (from playing). I know it has gotten played at least weekly. Or shoot me an email and I'll ask him to email y'all. -Jim
serial Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 My '65 Jazzmaster has almost no finish left on it. I've thought many times about getting it refinned, but it just feels right the way I set it up and have it now, that I'd hate to monkey with it just to pretty it up a little!Kiz needs to post pics of his Strat...
Punkavenger Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Wow! That looks like it could actually be worth 22K as opposed to some of the trash you see on ebay. Trade for a Hamer Special?
Jimbilly Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 I'm not sure (not being my guitar and all), I think it may have had a refret.
