Nash Strat - Sonic Blue

I've played a bunch of Nash's and this Nash strat "was" one of my keepers. The only reason I'm considering selling this one is because this was my latest aquisition and haven't spent as much time with her as my other guitars. I'm gassing for something else, so something's gotta go.

Unfortunately in my house, the wife is yelling and the kids are fighting. Every minute I have is precious. Thanks for putting the pics up

NICE!

If I hadn't just bought a Nash Jazzmaster I'd be all over this.

BD - What do you think about the Nash JMs? I've heard great stuff about their Strats and Teles.

it (above quote) exists in the eastern sierra mountains at my home. Jerseydrew is a swell-dude and provides cool gear at righteous prices.

Chris,

I'll get some photos of the Nash JM up soon - at the moment I have it disassembled and I'm waiting for a shipment from AllParts with a new pickguard and a few bits and pieces.

I'm happy with the JM with just a couple of reservations.

The good: Exceptionally nice paint job (Burgundy Mist w/ matching headstock) and very realistic looking medium to heavy relicing. My choice would have been light to medium, but with Nash, you take what's available. Great neck with perfectly leveled, crowned and polished frets, beautiful rosewood board, rolled edges on the board. The finish on the back of the neck isn't completely sanded off, which I like. Light weight, nice upgraded (Duncan) JM pickups. Mustang bridge! This was a nice surprise since most JM players consider the Mustang unit to be an upgrade over the stock JM bridge.

The questionable: The tremolo unit isn't the genuine Fender version with the locking mechanism. It's a cheaper version that's a little "creaky". Also, MusicToyz shipped the guitar without its trem arm and, as usual, their customer service is a black hole. Finally, the pickguard that Bill chose for this guitar was red tortoise - not a great match with the burgundy mist paint. I'll be substituting either white or mint green.

Since I have the guitar apart, I'm considering a few mods, like blocking the trem and dowelling and securely mounting the bridge to the body.

I'll update my progress in another thread, most of the work should be done this weekend.

And now, Somebody buy Drew's Nashocaster!

I'm sorry to bother everybody but I've decided NOT to sell this guitar. I would have regretted it. I've owned quite a few strats in my day but this one is special to me.
