tomteriffic Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 The body shape is right, the control cover is right, headstock shape's right, but there's lots else that's wrong. Expert opinions?Hamer Auction
savethematches Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Sure looks like a Hamer to me, but what the hell do I know?
serial Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Looks like it was at one time. Either that or maybe a Holmes. The lack of a sustain block would indicate the latter, but the control cavity looks like a Hamer as does the knob alignment. Looks like a '79 Sunburst that has been "customized" a good bit.
BCR Greg Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Tom Holmes guitar. Marketed as a "THC", for Tom Holmes Company....He was instrumental in the early Sunbursts, and produced guitars with a remarkable similarity to Hamers but with more conventional Gibson style bits.
tomteriffic Posted April 26, 2005 Author Posted April 26, 2005 At first glance, I thought it was the "Aceburst".

How would you compare its feel and sound to a Hamer?
