Looking for a used Victoria amp

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a used Victoria amp for sale or trade? I'm interested in a Regal, Victoriette or 2012 Deluxe, possibly the Champ clone with a 12" speaker (5112?).

I don't have one. but I once had a 5210. A 5 watt champ with 2 x 10" speakers. I should have kept it. Great amp. Good luck :)

I had a victoria champ. It was not as cool as your old fender tweed champ.

what do you even own anymore?

Orange Tiny Terror

Carr Rambler

Carr Mercury

'66 Deluxe Reverb

'62 brown Princeton

Vox Tonelab

And a couple of guitars :) I need some tweed!

My Champ was a '54 with a 6" speaker (not even the 8"). It sounded pretty good into a 12" extension cab, but it really wasn't anything special on its own. I ended up selling it to someone who wanted it more as a collectable than a practical amp.

I have one of these for sale for $1K if you're interested. It's a great sounding amp like all of the reviews say:

Thanks, Frank. I'm looking for a single 12 and 20 watts or less. That's a great deal on the Holland, though.

you should never have sold that ac15.

Unless, you're trying to score a '62 AC15 twin in fawn....

(hint, hint)

Sure, just what I need. A $6K amp that blows up every other week. :)

The Tiny Terror has the AC15 beat down and begging for mercy. You need one. Call Dave.

why, you'll sell yours soon.......

Aren't we having a jam at your townhouse may 4th???

Ha!, are you implying that I am guilty of amp fickality?

Good idea on the jam. Bring your Tonelab.

hack question: does that tonelab's 12ax7 go to the preamp tone shaping, or, rather, does it simply add power for an 'ac' circuit on the output/cab section?

victoria's are sweet, but i've been jonesing for a TOPHAT club deluxe with 6V6s and tube retifier.

good luck with the quest...

WTF?? :)

I'm on the fence to sell my Victorilux 3x10" (the more Fender sounding 6L6 version) Dead mint condition. Never out of the house. PM me if any interest.

OMG!!! what is that THING next to the vicky?????

Damn! The man has a Brown Princeton!!!

The Victorias are nice but I decided I'll be building my own Tweed Deluxe.

BTW...Trinity makes a Tweed Deluxe that is killer. Are you locked in to a Victoria?

I have 6 vintage amps going off for sale because of the '55 Bassman in back. The closest to the 10's you want might be my '62 concert with the best tremolo evah according to the Fender books. Not tweed but brown. Maybe the Harvard. I doubt the tweed Gibson Ranger would do it either. Happy hunting.

You don't have a Deluxe by any chance? I'm mostly interested in a single 12 combo with 20 watts or less. The Harvard is also very interesting. Send me a PM with a list of what you're letting go if you like.

Thanks.

Dave,

I've got sn SDG Tweed Deluxe clone with a Celestion Blue and a nicely serviced 1960 Tweed deluxe with the (reconed) original jensen. I keep the SDG at the recording studio and the Fender at home. They are both great, but I slightly prefer the SDG. We've also a/b'ed the SGD with a couple of Victorias and there is no contest. It may be the speaker more than anything since the vicky's come with crap (my opinion) reissue Jensens, but you can get the SDG with a blue for damn near 1/2 price of the vic.

SDG makes an awesome amp. The Proluxe that i heard sounds wonderful.

Agreed on the reissue Jensens being crap. I think the originals leave a lot to be desired as well - raspy and incapable of holding up to the lowest notes on the E without farting out. The Weber Jensen clones that I've tried seem much better than either.

I'm looking at a few other brands, but I like the resale value on the Victorias. If I can find a used one, I can flip it easily later without taking a hit. I have a few nice 12" replacement speakers lying around, so replacing a stock Jensen isn't a problem.

Thanks for all of the leads and advice.

Dave

Ernie,

That Victorilux is awsome, but I need something smaller.
