I'm a little guy, and Firebirds are too damn big for me. I worked with Robin on a Firebird style guitar that was smaller and updated in appearance. It's a set neck, but looks like a neck through.

The prototypes....

I foolishly let the 2 P-90 wraparound go, so I asked for another. This time, I asked for humbuckers, but still a wraparound bridge. Here it is......

Lightweight mahogany, big friggin' neck, flawless contruction and finish, resonant as a church bell at Christmastime.

Interested parties may contact me for more info.

Is it true you flew out to California on your recent vacay to be a contestant on "Are You Taller Than A Fifth Grader?"

Seriously, most FBs are a little small on me. I have Jack Frost's GMP 'Bird (last one to leave that factory totally assembled), and it was made on a Robbin Crosby sized body. Much more "wieldy". Wish I could post a pic....

Nice finish work. Same guy still doing that these days?

The more I look at these, the more I'm really really into them.

+1 on the finish. That's a gorgeous burst.

Available any time. Any color.

Robin is where Hamer was a few years ago......hungry, talented and willing to make things happen for the customer and bend rules occasionally. It worked for Hamer, now they are "boutique" builders, building guitars that they want to build.

What is the benefit of the split headstock? I've seen it on a lot of guitars but I was never on what it did for the guitars overall tone

Three Stooges-style eye poking.

It looks cool. Not everything is about tone.....

Dave did this headstock after seeing the original patent drawings for the Gibson Explorer back 1973 or so.....
