holLoWskull Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 PRICE REDUCED TO $850....READ FURTHER IN THREAD. After totally ignoring my 1 in 1 out rule for a while now, it's time to start trying to move some guitars, starting with a model that I have 2 of. This one is in great shape, no dings, dents, etc. save some Hameritis along the fretboard edges and scratches in the clearcoat on either side of the headstock that are right in the area that a guitar hanger/stand would contact the headstock. I don't know if they can be buffed out or not, which is ashame because this guitar could honestly pass for new otherwise. The frets have no visible wear and the nickel hardware only has a slight patina (NO RUST!!) that could probably be removed with the right metal polish and some good ol' elbow grease. All original except strings. All electronics are 100% original w/ factory solder joints intact, stock Seymour Duncan Vintage Rails in the neck and middle, Hot Rails in the bridge position. Relatively light weight (about 7 3/4 lbs. on the digital bathroom scale), and a typical mid-90's USA Hamer medium neck profile. Decent flame in the Koa too, some nice "curl" going on. Comes with OHSC (Hamer of course) that's in excellent shape and original Wilkinson VSV tremolo arm. This guitar has virtually no play wear on it and would be equally at home with someone who collects Hamers as it would be with someone who enjoys playing them. This one has low action and plays great (a testiment to a good job of levelling the frets right from the Arlington Heights factory). Looking for $900 US which will include shipping and full insurance to any CONUS address. I'll split Paypal fees with you if that's your preferred method of purchase, otherwise a USPS Money order or personal check (though it won't ship until the money clears if I don't know you personally) will do the trick. International buyers or non-CONUS buyers, please e-mail me for a shipping price. E-mail me if interested, since for some reason I don't always get PM's sent from the HFC board. Thanks.
BubbaVO Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Where were you when I needed you?I was willing to trade my studio archtop custom for that straightup. Now after suffering serious GAS that has derailed my Phantom dreams and has a Tally headed my way, I've got to pay for it. So the archtop (and a DuoTone) are on EBay. Very nice looking Mirage. Good luck!

Good luck! Figures, isn't that the way it always seems to go Anyway, I probably should mention that I'm not looking to do any trades as I'm in a very unusual and good spot....I have just about every Hamer that I want right now (well, except for another Cali Elite, but I need something to keep me in the hunt for Hamers). Thanks.
Rockola Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 bah! i'm still 3-4 paychecks away from surprising the wife. Very nice guit.S.
collarguy Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 bump. This is a nice clean, straight guitar. I had the pleasure of playing it last winter.
holLoWskull Posted October 12, 2007 Author Posted October 12, 2007 Since I'd rather move this guitar on the forum than Ebay if possible, I'll drop it to $850 shipped/insured to a CONUS address for HFC'ers. All I ask is that with the new lowered price, if you use Paypal that you pay the FULL Paypal fees. At this price, someone will be getting a bargain for a Mirage I in the condition this one is in. I've seen ones with a lot more wear and tear on them sell for this price or a little more. I've got plenty of references on the HFC and most every one has said that the guitars I've sold them are in far nicer shape then they expected. More pix and references available upon request. Open your wallets and keep a brutha' from having to go to ebay with this beauty!
DaveH Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Wanna trade for a Heritage H150? A trade would comply with the '1-in-1-out' rule (the missus might not see it that way though)!

Thats your color man! You know the guitar I do indeed know the violet Special FM in question quite well and like that one, this guitar is in fantastic shape and plays great. However Caddie, although I'm not looking for trades there is one guitar in your possession that I could possibly be swayed to throw this lovely Mirage I into the pot as trade bait for That said, if any HFC member is on the fence about this Mirage, I'll probably give it until mid-week or end of the week here before I get around to listing it elsewhere. So you've still got some time to get your checking accounts full or your credit card limits increased so as to give this beauty a new home in the HFC

Didn't we almost do the deal long ago?SteveClose Rock, I had a Mirage II that went to the loving hands of Lord Nelson. At the time I would have liked to pick up a Mirage I but it just didn't happen. Can't recall why. At this point in time my inventory of guitars (and amps for that matter) is heavy. noonan
