kizanski Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 After this gig, even light weight guitars will be hard to bear, the strap hits me in a vulnerable place. You could try switching strap location for one gig, a la the Iceman.
BCR Greg Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 I could, but holding my arm up is the big problem.

I went through a run of buying several 40s and 50s Lap Steels for next-to no money- I'm sure a gentleman with your resources could find a real peach... Nothin' but Love to you, my friend
Willie G. Moseley Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 A 2001 left achromionectomy really changed my perspective on playing bass---since then, has to be a wide strap and lightweight, body-"heavy" instrument, balance-wise. I seem to have settled in with mahogany body G & L L-1000s and original style '82-'83 SB-1s. Cold/damp weather still makes it ache, but the surgery was pre-emptive; waiting would've meant rotator cuff surgery.
