I hear Minneapolis has a pretty happening scene. I work for General Mills so you must have seen their huge complex in Minn. When I was there on training I looked thru the local music rag and it seemed like the scene was pretty busy and a lot of music venues. Is it good for cover bands and originals alike?

BruceM Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Two of my bands are playing at a house party in the north 'burbs of st. paul (shoreview) on Saturday evening. We're on early, from 6:00 - 8:00, and 3 other bands play after us. There's also a very special guest appearance by none other than Madame Pamita. Pam will be emceeing the show, and I can't wait to see her all bundled up to deal with our heat wave in the 20's this weekend! If you'd like to go to this one, let me know, and I'll get directions for you. My friend Scott, who has attended numerous 4-3-2-1 Club jams, hosts a very welcoming Ground Hog's Day party every year. Feel free to show up, guys, and you might get a chance to play after 10:00. The mini-bike show kicked some a** last night!!! The cretins were very good too. You gotta admire 18 year olds that play shirtless in the middle of winter, and throw down some old-school punk, ala the Ramones and the Sex Pistols. When are the 'bike doing the shirtless thang?

The 'bike prefer to keep their shirts on, for reasons too numerous to detail here. We will, however, be playing without pants from now on to show how truly punk we are . Ted's voice is so powerful, you can actually SEE the sound waves when he belts it out! Thanks for braving the weather and showing up, Bruce (and Dave and Sarah and Syd ((sp?))) - we had a blast! I wish I had even a small fraction of the energy displayed by The Cretins, and was especially impressed by the fact that they didn't stop playing. At all. Their set was basically one long song with about a dozen different "parts". Cool. Z
