Kilroy is all about... Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 First Fiddle up is the best Lester that I've ever played and that's formerly owned, custom-ordered by the legendly GE Smith from the Saturday Night Live Band/Bob Dylan. picture below is the only documentation as to the player and this same guitar. it's lighter than my early 80s Les Paul Custom, but weights more than the '08 models. $4.35k shipped via two-day AIR to ya... Next fiddle is the one-off, prototyped #45, NAMM '05 show Gretsch G6120 in maple-topped tabaccoburst. straight-body shot....it's mint and has only left the vault one time for a quick-demo in a studio. full-length shot with fender custom shop '52 r/i telecaster (that now belongs to Uncle RNielsen) prototype stickered #45. $2.65k shipped via two-day AIR to ya.... Thirdly, is the Stratocaster #017/25 (stamped on back of headstock) fender custom shop 60 r/i with rosewood neck and 60's pups in a matching headstock in a players or relic condition, and no documentation or COA. The neck is a full-on tiger-stripped, C-type and it has a hamerish feel to its playing. This piece was gigged for two reasons: sounds great and plays better than it looks. $2.15k shipped via two-day AIR... Lastly, there is a Hamer '97 standard, USA production, purchased from Peter F last year and recently refinished in black/white checkers, and RIO GRANDE pups (texas/bbq), and it's got a nice, full neck and a new shining paint job as done by Tony Leicht out of October Guitars, located in Maryland. $2.35k shipped two-day AIR to ya... As for amps, there is this Sound City S120, reconfigured to be a 60-watter with FOUR EL-34s and sound great in either a clean or dirty mode (adjust the gain/volume). it is ole' school late 60's amp head and sounds closest to the HIWATTs from that era, but with more headroom on the clean mode. Look closely as it has the uber-rare, multi-colored knobs... $600 shipped to ya... Cash is king; paypal is okay, and I'd accept trade offers for the following: Matchless HC-30 amp head or DC-30 combo from the Mark Sampson era. Either PM or drop an email to the rgkilroy@yahoo.com Peace B w/U.
Kilroy is all about... Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 Is that a USA Standard?USA production and purchased from Peter F. last year.I lived in indy from '68 to '75 as a snotty-nosed punk and then from '94 to '98 as a 'i'm hating law school' and most flying out of Willow Grove, Pa. I lived on College Ave, just north of the 54th street and within walking distance of one of the greatest small venue..the VOGUE!rk replies.
marcnorth Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Cool, thanks.I transplanted here back in 1989.The Vogue is a great place to see a show. Last show I saw there was Les Claypool. I always like to get there early enough to get a seat right on the corner of the balcony for a great clear view of the stage. And away from all the drunks.I'm about 10 minutes west of there off of 71st Street.
Guest pirateflynn Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 ....... And away from all the drunks. Hey .... ! Good luck with the sale Kilroy ..... some nice ones there. I've bought gear from Kilroy on a few occasions and sold some, too. Nice, nice stuff!
ZR Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I guess the new super-deal price around here is $.35K then.

GusS Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 it's probably 747488!! If so, that's the guitar rjoseph33 (i think) found in a store somehwere for a ludicrous price (like 200 or less) which he passed on to poe back when poe was in his standard korina-mahogany-custom phase. Poe sold it to me a few months later and I kept it until I got black bart from SirDan, after which I sold it to Peter. Here's one used hamer that keeps appreciating

Both this one and black bart sound amazing. The 2-3 maple topped Hamers I've owned sound ok but don't have the voice of these standards. my knock against these black and natural mahoganies is that they look like nothin more than copies of a rather common guitar. i'd bone your yellow refin.

I agree-mine was originally black, but just looked like a Gibson '76 RI (which is NOTHING like a real Gibson '76-'79 Explorer). Here's some mo' mahogany Standard porn-these things are great guitars.
