I've decided that the guitars I'm going to keep are my Vector and Mexi Strat, so up for grabs is my '88 Chap. If I hadn't found the Strat, I was going to keep this one as my only guitar because it's just so dog gone versatile.

Here's the post from when I got last Nov. (Ha! I mentioned I wouldn't sell except for "hard times". Well, here it is anyway!).

'88 Chaparral Elite

SD TB-11 Custom Custom/Quarter Pounder/L'il 59 B/M/N

Original Floyd Rose, non-recessed

Mahogany body and neck

Ebony w/ Boomers (one boomer @ 19th fret has small chip. No affect on playability.)

8.5 lbs

OHSC in good condition

First of all, this guitar is a stunning player with one of the most comfortable neck I've ever laid hands on. Wide and thin, but fuller in the shoulders for a very nice, non-fatiguing feel. I've got it set at the "supid, low, action" setting. No buzzing anywhere.

Second, the range of tones this guitar can produce is out of this world. The humbuckers split in posititions 2 and 4, so you got your bridge rawk, woody neck, and great spank on 2 and 4 "in between" settings. In fact, until I played it, I wouldn't have ever thought you could get good 2 and 4 sounds from a set-neck, short-scale, mahogany guitar, but they're there. This guitar does it all.

Third, like many 20yo guitars that sound good, it's been played a lot and it shows. Definitely not a museum piece with a decent number of dings, donks, uh-ohs, and the like. Most are simple dinks in the laquer, but a couple on the back of the neck go down to the wood, but can't be felt when playing due to where they are on the neck. When I was talking to earachemyeye about it, he sent me a ton of pictures detailing every little spot of concern on the guitar (which are available to any interest party, of course), but all I see when I look at it is...

Yet another fine piece that has passed through my doors. I'm sure its new owner will be pleased.

Are you sure it is a short-scale guitar? I ask because of the year it was made.

Anyhow, beautiful one.
