BCR Greg Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 The Genz Benz Shuttle series amps are powerful and tiny, which traditionally do not go together in bass amplification. Jeff Genzler NAILED it with these, and I have been selling them swiftly. I just got in a few more, and wanted to let the HFC know that I have them in stock, as they are backordered for quite a while. There is a huge thread about them on www.talkbass.com and everyone that has gotten one from me loves theirs. Get them while they are hot! Awesome stuff, seriously awesome stuff.
BCR Greg Posted May 30, 2008 Author Posted May 30, 2008 Yeah, those Balck Pearls kick ass. Great company, Genz Benz!
Siaip Ciuvas Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 I just can second on Black Pearl. IF I was playing something softer this would be my amp of choice on stage... Still plan to save a bit of cash to get it to my home
Bass Guy Dave Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 I've been really impressed with all the Genz Benz stuff I've seen. I worked at a store wehre we sold a lot of GB stuff in the late 90's and they were real solid and sounded good.I've seen these Shuttles, but haven't heard 'em yet. Every Benz product I've seen seems to sound even better than the last.If my Trace ever dies, I'd likely replace it with something from these guys. That being said, once we can get some medical, etc paid off, I'd really want to get one of these in a 10" so I wouldn't need to lug my very good sounding, (but ten-ton) Trace around.
tgoss Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Does anyone play out with a Black Pearl? Just wondering how it keeps up with bass/drums/keys. I use a Super Reverb. As loud? Louder?
tomteriffic Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 These things are tiny! Which isn't THAT much of a surprise, Walter Woods was making tiny, very powerful bass amps back in the 80's. But I wonder, coupled with the small speaker cabs, how loud they'd get. Would they handle, say, a small to medium bar band gig without having to eat up all the PA low end to help it out?

That's the cool part. They DO move a TON of air. We did an outside gig a couple weeks ago, and our temp bassist Phil used the 6.0 12T. It was PLENTY LOUD on stage.... Bob asked him to drop the volume a little at one point.
teejayh Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I have a Genz Benz Black Pearl 2x12 Combo that is a great amp. Its sounds fantastic and is built like a tank. Due some unexpected bills I may have to sell it in June. I hate to give it up but its either that or a guitar. I just have to make my mind up which one has to go.
radmo Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I am enjoying my Genz Benz El Diablo 60C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BCR Greg Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 Back to the Shuttles.....My rep just told me that the Shuttle 6.0 is backordered until August, 77 units ordered and counting....
