Guest pirateflynn Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Hey ....... looks like a 4 Digit case comes with RD Artist. That's rare and worth a few hundred bucks, too!
veatch Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 If i've seen a cleaner '82 Eagle, i sure don't remember it...Very nice...
cmatthes Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Very cool stuff. I'm digging the Blue Eagle - I've always liked those old BC Rich guitars/basses, but for some reason have never owned one.
Jimbilly Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 My Eagle is an'83 I think, it's not mint, but I don't think I'd trade it for that blue one, this brown one is a great bass. That blue one has been for sale for quite a while.

HamerHokie Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I remember when the RD Artist came out. Didn't know they had become collectable. Maybe someday you'll be able to get $2000 for your Marauder!
cmatthes Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Stranger things are happening - I'm seeing people jumping all over and pushing up the prices for those "The Paul" models. When the Sonex series Gibs start fetching $700 or more, you know it's gotten pretty silly out there.

I thought it looked like fine, hand crafted furniture.

Like, not yet finding a crappy one good.
Nuclear Wessel Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I remember wanting one of those RD Artist guitars really bad when they first came out. I had only recently started playing. I thought the active bass & treble controls, built in bright switch and compression, designed by Robert Moog, were going to be the ultimate recipe for getting great guitar tones! The RD was so cutting edge! It's a guitar that could only have come about during the Norlin era, since at the time Norlin owned both Gibson and Moog.Has anyone read about the Moog guitar that is coming out? I read a little about it on HC a couple of days ago. Guess what it has? Built in dynamics processing!Stranger things are happening - I'm seeing people jumping all over and pushing up the prices for those "The Paul" models.I wanted to get a Paul when I was a kid too. I've played one a couple of times. It's not a guitar that blew me away with its playability, but I remember having a lot of fun wailing away on one in a guitar shop one day. One of those guitars you can get lost for an hour or two noodling around on.
