Mindseyes Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 2003 Monaco Elite Mahogany DiMarzio PAF Classics upgraded tone cap (see pic's) This guitar sounds great plays great with 11's setup on it at this time. It is in barley used condition I'd say 9.9999 out of 10. It has a little normal playwear, but no noticeable dings, gouges, scratches, etc. Little to no fret ware, the neck has the modern carve. Nice looking grain on the back and a really nice looking fretboard Original case and certificate Around 9lbs NOTE!...in one of the pic's the pickup covers look worn but they are just foggy from being in the cool house then going outside to take pics. I'm looking for something cool with P90's!!!!!!!!! Dont want no trem's! Condition dosent really matter as long as the guitar dosent need any repairs ya get it! lets see what ya got!....pm me threw the board or email. tentonnothing(@)yahoo(.)com
Steve Haynie Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Have you thought about putting a P90 equivalent in that Monaco Elite?
Mindseyes Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 The COA states "Vintage Orange"Have you thought about putting a P90 equivalent in that Monaco Elite?I have not really thought about doing that yet.....but if it dosent move i guess i'll break out the sodering iron.
unfun 75 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Maybe some Phat Cats would sound nice in that one?
Mindseyes Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 The one on the right........ Pm me the details on that and other pics if you have them.....thanks!
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 I wouldn't go the Fatcat way...they sound great in a Newport, but they do not have traditional P90 sounds. I would go with either the Rio Bastard or the Hauessel P90 that is in my Redwood Huber. You can't go wrong with either. The Bastard is big, fat and nasty. The Hauessel is a touch more refined and slices through a band like no other pickup I have tried. It is a damn shame about these guitars. They get absolutely *zero* love from the masses. I think they are great guitars and sound infinitely better than the Monaco Elite. The 2 that I played at BCR were killer guitars. If I were you, I would go the P90 way and hold on to this, you simply won't get anywhere near the return for the quality of guitar that you have. If it doesn't work, you can always throw the Buckers back in and try to sell. JMHO.
