elduave Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Nice. I find the top to be similar to many early 80's Cherry Sunburst Ibanez pointies. The pickups help too.
murkat Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 These are great guitars I would have pulled the trigger, but the knob placement is a little off kilter for me. Great players.
atquinn Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 "Flame Topped White Sycamore" Huh? Was this a common material for Japanese guitars in the 70's?-Austin

All the early Robins (c.1982) were made by Tokai and had sycamore tops.
sw686blue Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 If I'm not mistaken, sycamore and maple are from the same family of wood species.

Hmm, that's the sort of thing you'd expect a guy with a Master's degree in Botany to know. But plant taxonomy was never my strong suit. Come to think of it, neither was Botany -Austin
