ZR Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 How did this color scheme become fairly common on most Hamers with 2 humbuckers?
bruce919 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Older Hamers = Double cream bridge - Zebra neck (Dimarzio era)Newer Hamers= Bouble black bridge - Zebra Neck (Duncan era)83-90 Hamers with Hamer Slammers pickups were all Double black.
ZR Posted June 15, 2005 Author Posted June 15, 2005 Thanks for the info but why is one solid color and the other zebra?
Mr Fuzzy Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Thanks for the info but why is one solid color and the other zebra? Aesthetic design choice?
kizanski Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Of course, now we're in the black rings/chrome covers era.YUK!
bruce919 Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Chome covers do nothing for me. I like the Zebra or double cream look.
silentman Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Of course, now we're in the black rings/chrome covers era.YUK! +1
paults Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Hamer was one of the first (the first?) manufacturers to have different winds for the neck and bridge pickups. Making the neck pickup zebra makes assembly simpler- no pickup mixups!Besides, they looked vintage cool...
HamerHokie Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Of course, now we're in the black rings/chrome covers era.YUK! Black rings look tres chic with certain finishes. If you can't see this, you must have bad fashion sense.
