I thought his name was Kim I would get with Serial and/or Kim and be sure. There's also another proto 6 string on ebay thats now marked $695 I bid on it a week ago and then it got pulled. FWIW...They both look legit to me. I am certainly no expert though
serial Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 The Prototype 12 was a regular production guitar and there were a fair number of them made- probably more than any other Hamer 12 besides the Eclipse, which is not at all rare by Hamer numbers. Cool guitar, but I wouldn't break the bank for it. This one is not a prototype of a Prototype, if that was the impression anyone had.

mc2 Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Yeah, they are pretty cool. They don't pop up that often on EBAY. That one did start crazy high. I think the seller is probably flexible at this point, seeing as he's been trying for months and dropping the price. I have dealt with that seller once before. He's professional enough and his descriptions are fairly accurate. He or the person he sells for are pro players, so the pieces I've seen him move have been interesting ones and have a fair amount of honest/real player wear. OH...An' Woody...don't feel bad abut being confused about thinking a Hamer Prototype was actually a "prototype"...I've seen one of their actual "prototype" Prototypes on EBAY and the seller tryng to explain THAT one. Talk about confusing. Even worse, apparently there are several "prototypes' of the Prototype floating around. Here's a metallic blue (what's the actual color name?) Prototype 12 and Candy Red Phantom 12 for comparison.
