Turdus Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Not wanting to pay the $175 to $200 for a Gib case, who makes a tight fitting, tolex case?I've tried some that are not even close to fitting. Back in the 70's/80's you could buy no name LP or Strat tolex cases, that were fine, yet did not have the big name on them.Where they at today?Should add that I don't want a flat top "Epi" case. Want the arch, like the Historic case, etc.
serial Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I have a few TKLs that run in the $100 range (cheaper if you're at a guitar show and have cash in hand).
Turdus Posted March 5, 2009 Author Posted March 5, 2009 Which TKL case boys? Remember.. I'm looking for tolex + arch top.Tried a Gator, and the fit was not good. Seemed more like a generic LP style case, which did not really fit my LP. Too much wiggle room.I need it to be tight, lol.
cmatthes Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Which TKL case boys? Remember.. I'm looking for tolex + arch top.Not sure the part number, but I have a few down in the vault. I'll see if there's any identifier - basically it's the same as the Gibson 535 cases or the Hamer GC-1 case. I have a Les Paul in one and a Hamer in the other and I think there's a third one with nothing in it (?).
hamertek98 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I was lucky a few years ago and got a Gibson case for our guit player. 75-80 bucks. + shipping. Can't remember who. It was like brand new. Pink shit inside. They are out there.
serial Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 I keep my Historic R 4 in one. I don't use the case it came in because the handle is missing a rivet. Arch top.
