Brewmaster Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I have one of my 18 watt TMB 1x12 combo's for sale. It is the demo I Iook with me to several guitar shows and that my marketing rep took up to the N.E. It has a G12H30 16 ohm speaker and all new tubes. This one has Mallory 150 coupling caps, and carbon comp resistors. As you may or may not know I have built some with CF resistors and Orange Drops, Sozo's, or Mojo/TAD Dijons but this is my standard lower gain version with my trannies. I can tweak it for a little more gain or right to the point just before the EL-84 buzz kicks in. No pedals needed for this amp. If you must, a clean boost, Treble boost or an old germanium fuzz is all that I recommend. Another builder bought one of these in a head version and I am building him another one with 6V6's and Mercury trannies. (We have plans for a joint design for later this year if the economy doesn't totally tank) No nicks in the tolex, a paint fleck on the top left, and a little snag in the grill cloth that I worked out. The cab is a premium Trinity cab that I no longer offer. Color is levant green. I have sold a bunch of these and my 1974x clone for $1,500.00 I'm blowing this one out for $1,250.00 shipped. I have a pair of Celestion T-75s from my old Marshall cab, made in UK. $100.00 shipped. The V30's are sold.
Brewmaster Posted March 6, 2009 Author Posted March 6, 2009 Got it! The V 30's are gone!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys!
jwhitcomb3 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Hey Dan,Very good to see a post from you. Under other circumstances I would have jumped on that deal. Those look very cool, and I wish you great success!-Jonathan
Brewmaster Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 Amp still available. Comes with one year parts and labor warranty, and lifetime parts. (except tubes of course) Free upgrades when there are changes to the base circuit, just pay for the shipping. If you want to max out the gain, like I said in the original post, I'll do it at no extra charge. This is an EL-84 based amp and I have managed to get them maxed on the gain(for an El-84) without the EL-84 buzz. That has always been a limitation of the EL-84. For those who don't like El-84 amps, try mine, you will like it. I have a pair of Celestion T-75s from my old Marshall cab, made in UK. $100.00 shipped.
Brewmaster Posted April 1, 2009 Author Posted April 1, 2009 TMB SOLD!!! to SantellavisionThank You Ernie!!!
tomteriffic Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Rats! Good for you Dan, good for you Ernie. Maybe I SHOULD have sold my Schlabotnicks.
santellavision Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Got the amp today. Well... freakin' amazing! Sounds superb. I just wanted to give some Kudos to Dan Hoagland. This was his 'demo' amp that he took to shows and dealers etc. (I figured it had to sound great, if this is the amp he demos) Wow, there is something very special going on here.I've owned four other 18 watt style amps (Gabriel Voxer, Roccaforte Custom 18, Marshall 1974x and a Suhr Badger) This amp does them all one better. Maybe not in total features, but I'm just talking feel/tone. Warm, deep with plenty of grind. 2 channels. One just nails the early ZZ Top tone. I couldn't stop playing it. The other channel is similar but with a bit more gain and a Master Volume. Incredible touch sensitivity. Enough rambling. These amps need to get reviewed. Dan is the man! I'll try to post some clips when I get time.
