Hi!

Looking for some nice PAF style pups for my Studio Custom, if anyone wants to get rid of something nice......Fralins, or WCR, or WB Gregwinds would be my first choice. Hit me a PM if you have some great PAFs that you have to sell. Also interested in Manlius.

ps. Looking for something with a cover. Nickle preferred, but I'll take what I can get.

Please send it by pm, or you can email directly at:

the sonic defender AT Hawtmail dot com

sonic defender is typed all in one word.

PS, Selling must be OK with shipping to Canada, as...........that's where I be. :)

Not being flippant, but in that guitar, I really have grown to like these. I went through the others you mention (minus the Manilus) and my second choice is the new 36th Anniv. Dimarzios (in their previous incarnation though). The vintage winds play real well with that particular piece of wood.

If I had to pick an expensive booty-kay marque, it would be Fralin's standard wind HB.

I don't know anything about the BG-pups. But I definitely love the GregWinds.

+1 on the DiMarzios. I dropped the 36th Anniversary Dimarzios in a very bright sounding Ibanez with a mahogany (that I rewired with new pots, a Hovland Musicap capacitor (.01 mF)) and I think that those sound really good too. Now if I could just get the neck fixed on that thing...if its not one thing, its another...

Hey everyone, thanks for the opinions, much appreciated. I got an interesting offer. I will have to read some more info and make a decision.

Bryan was hanging around here for a little while.

Whats that comment mean? Have they changed somthing or did I just take it out of text?

+1 on the BBQ/Texas set.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the BBQ/Texas set aren't PAFs are they. Anyway, bubs, Dimarzio is positively Hamer-ian in their product codes. Thus their 36th anniversary PAF's replaced their Virtual PAF neck and Virtual PAF bridge/Virtual Hot PAF and I believe they have the same product codes as the previous Virtual PAF set. So, I believe JGale is saying he liked the Virtual PAFs more than the 36th PAFs. As far as BG pickups go, there was a set in the Schroeder tour guitar that I had for a few days and I thought they were very nice, especially the neck pickup.

Yep, took that all wrong, all the pieces in order now. As for the Rios' then get a TEXAS SET.. :) What about WCR's.

What about WCR's.

WCR Crossroads and Darkbursts are PAF style but have a little extra booty and juice. A Darkburst in the bridge position can be a good way to balance out an old sustainblock Sunburst and still keep it PAF.

I've got my WCR Darkburst awaiting the return of my 79 Darkburst... Hope its not too dark. :)

Those look like a good price. I will keep them in mind for next time, thanks for the tip. I have chosen WCR.
