ScubaMarket Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Gloomy day so the pics don't do it justice. Forecast is better for tomorrow so I'll update the pics then. bizzwriter Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Damn, this has got me under pressure....50 or 100 watt??2205 should be a 50 watter...
kurtsstuff Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Never seen the choke on the underside of the chassis??
Hamertoe Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 Never seen the choke on the underside of the chassis??Shane at British Audio told me that there's a difference in the clipping & preamp section on these models as well. Wish I was a tech so I could explain it but unfortunately plugging it in and turning it up is my specialty with amps.Yep, 50 watts.
DEMENTED Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I had one of those...just as clean too...it went buh-bye. Good Luck w/ yer sale.
Riffer Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Nice Marshall. If only I had the scratch. Damn leafy debris.
Hamertoe Posted May 17, 2009 Author Posted May 17, 2009 Cash is king but would consider offers for a Rivera Chubster +cash. Something with 2 P-90s or humbuckers in excellent /mint condtion with ohsc. Might add cash on my side if need be.
Chi Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Hey Don! hope all is well...Done a deal with Don in the past and he is good peoples...AND, if whoever ends up with this very nice Marshall is in the NY>NJ/CT area, I may have the perfect 4x12 for it!!! http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=35108
Hamertoe Posted May 19, 2009 Author Posted May 19, 2009 Hi Chi! All is well and thanks to everyone for the kind input. Anyone considering a deal with Chi can rest assured they'll be completely satisfied so buy his stuff! Bumping with a pic of the original footswitch.
Hamertoe Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 Trade me something nice & mint or trade me money. This amp will not disappoint.
Disturber Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I had one of those...just as clean too...it went buh-bye. Good Luck w/ yer sale. I had one too. My main amp for 15 years. It was a '87 or '89 and it sounded killer. These have the diode clipping in the pre-amp (just like the silver jubilee). Schenker, Z Wylde, Slash and more played these on and off in the late 80's early 90's. They need to be dimed to sound best, so the output tubes sweat. They take KT88's as well, then they sound like a WALL of sound, (I think Zakk ran his this way).
Hamertoe Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 Lets review: Basically NOS condition , first anniversary amp ever released by Marshall, limited edition white tolex. 1 of only 250 produced to commemorate Jim Marshall's 20th year in the amp industry. Same diode clipping section as the Silver Jubilee a full 5 years before the Jubilee was introduced. Don't forget, mint original footswitch! Serial Number A/S 002XX, freshly serviced & retubed for good measure. Killer tone & cosmetics for a truly vintage amp. Nobody on your block has one, honest. Possible trades- a 2-P-90 equipped guitar, something with humbuckers needs to be mint/exc. I would add a little cash if need be, I'll take a little cash if need be. My tone thirst needs a 100 watt quench otherwise this baby would stay.
