Korina Studio or Monaco Elites??

It seems like there are all-Korina versions of most of Hamer's current models (Artist, Newport, Standard, Junior), but I don't believe I've ever seen an all-Korina Studio or Monaco Elite. What's up with that?

seeker has a korina studio custom with victories that's pretty sweet, but i havent seen a korina Elite yet either.

It just seems like Korina is such an "it" wood that more people would be ordering it. Maybe there's a huge upcharge for it? Anyway, a Korina Studio Cusom with victories would definitely be a good-looking guitar.

kselbee, as far as what Korina sounds like, I understand it sounds similar to Mahogany, but I guess it's lighter and has a bit more top end. I'm kind of talking out my @ss though, since I've never had a Korina guitar.

How about a korina HB Special Custom? I guess that's what you would call it. :)

Anyway, to me and with all things being equal, mahogany and korina are very similiar in the tone department. I do think korina has a bit more defined 'chunk' to it, but the electronics can even that up. Just my opinion.

Last I heard, the korina upcharge was $400 list. Not bad considering how much other manufacturers charge for it and the Hamer wood is the best.
