Turdus Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Today, I find myself owning an LP, LP Jr, Tele, a couple strats, a P and a J bass. As a teen in the 70's, these were the ones I wanted. From the 80's until recently, it was a numbers game for me, and how many guitars I could possess. I no longer buy on impulse. I think about it for a day, then decide I do not need it. There is a alum neck Kramer bass on ebay right now that would allow me to relive my early bass playing days. I kinda want it, but realize if I bought it, it would be cool for about 10 minutes, then I'd be looking to sell it.I used to be a gaseous fellow. I thought as I got older, I would have more gas.Do I need to see a gastroenterologist?
silentman Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Order a watson, it will end guitar gas forever. At least it's been working for 4+ months in my case, LOL! In fact I've been thinking od selling off many of my guitars, because of it, but I can't bring myself to do it.
darc Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I've been GASed out for years now. 3 or 4 string changes a month is about all the maintenance I can find time for anyway.
MCChris Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I thought I was done until I saw Brewmaster's custom built VAC up for sale.

Turdus Posted August 12, 2005 Author Posted August 12, 2005 Several of you will remember this pic taken of me, when I was in my prime. Today, it feels like the flame has been extinguished.
Guest galejt Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I'm getting there. I have been buying and selling so I could spend more time with an instrument vice 15 minutes in the store. Got a semihollow, chambered, solid (w/sustain block), a Jr. and a Strat. A little tweaking of that lineup to get the neck size I like and I'm there. Understand the effect though. I'd be staring at MCC's '77 right now if I was faster on the trigger.Jim

SOUND is... it could be beat to phuk yet sound better that a 68 black beauty(well anythign sounds better than that but its just an example)... so enjoy the ones you have til you find the right one.... kinda like finding a spouse HAHA Sir Douglas Randy
Monacosis Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I have tele gas bigtime You and me both, HHB. I would be set with a nice Tele and my M3. Oh yeah, and maybe a few amps mike
hardheartedbill Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I'm moving stuff right and left trying to get rid of things I'm not using, I do have a pressing finacial need but I was on this path before, just trying to boil it down to the essentials. It's funny cause when I was on the road all the time I had 2 guitars and that was it. I came home and started my teaching business up in earnest and went nuts ( this freaking board made it too easy LOL ). I really think I need a tele w/ strat arm contours, then I'd have it made LOL

pesocaster Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 out of gas..... fart running out of air... that means poop.... careful!I've sold 6 guitars (so far) this year.... saving up for something he he he he...
Craig S Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I know the feeling. I have 8 and have sold 1 recently. I have been very busy lately and haven't much time otherwise I probably would have sold off more. I have no desire whatsoever to buy anything more and have been delibarately holding off selling anything else in case the feeling changes. I don't really know what I would sell first at this point anyway, probably some of the stuff that is redundant.
Jon_Press Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 I used to be a gaseous fellow. I thought as I got older, I would have more gas.Do I need to see a gastroenterologist? What's that smell?
mudshark Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 I have tele gas bigtime That's a good thing, Bill.
BadJaxx Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 try some GAS-X....won't help, but hey...i've got stock in the company....so far this year, i've sold 5 nice guitars, bought 6, and custom ordered 1....thought i'd be selling another after buying the Artist Korina....but think i'll sell an amp instead....cuz...."I love ALL my guitars".....a refrain frequently heard at my house....
