It's possible that it could be a refin, but I'm thinking it's original despite that. The "Ferrari Red" is typically pretty thick on Hamers, as it is a hot red shot over a white base coat. I've had/have other opaque finished Hamers with the stamped serials that look like that.

I had a Frost Blue Gibson FBVII that you almost had to hold at an angle to read the serial for the same reason.

That paint looks like the guitar was dipped in it. Thick looking

It is stock. I had one in Ferrari Red back in the late 90's I new another Guy here on the board that had one in the same color. I bought it NOS from Victor Litz for $600.
