Worth it for the parts?

I'm considering a bass that is for sale at a friends bricks 'n' mortar store. It belonged to an old bass-playin' friend who passed away and is consigned by his estate. Out of respect for that, and because we're all friends, I don't want to go too overboard with the arm-twisting. Anyway........

It's an 80's Hondo done in the Danelectro Longhorn shape with the copperburst finish. My late buddy liked the bass a lot and had tricked it out pretty severely: Sperzel locking bass tuners, Duncan Bass Lines pickup and a very expertly installed 2-Tek bridge. It's in great shape overall.

The narrow neck appeals to my smallish hands and I'm thinking about grabbing this. OTOH, it's still a Hondo. I'm thinking that I'd be able to recoup a lot of the cost in parts value if I decided to go that way. The store is asking $495 and doesn't have a lot of wiggle room since it's a consignment piece.

What say ye?

Yeah, I think so too.

The 2TEK is the most valuable part - I've seen those go for $100 - $200, if you can find them.

Definitely seems high though.
