Disturber Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 The Swedish songwriter & producer Max Martin holds all four top positions on the Billboard Hot 100. He beats The Beatles old record with three in a row from 1964. Kinda cool for us Swedes, lol Now, when will we see a graphic Hamer Special with his face on it, double lol.
zenmindbeginner Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 From Wikipedia:Since 2008, he has written and co-written seven number one hits, including: "So What" by Pink, "Hot n Cold", "I Kissed a Girl" and "California Gurls" by Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You", and "3" by Britney Spears. In 2010 alone, he has written or co-written five top 10 singles, including "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz, "DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love" by Usher, "Whataya Want From Me" by Adam Lambert, as well as "California Gurls" and "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry"DJ Got Us Fallin'" packs the dancefloor everytime and "Dynamite" always elicits moans and groans of pleasure whenever I crank it up.Max is a songwriting for the masses genius. But, why would his face be airbrushed on any musical instrument besides a sampler? He has very little guitar playing on his songs... very little.
cmatthes Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 He was just kidding - it was a reference to the Beatles' faces being silk-screened onto a few Hamer Specials. I think it was a little Swedish pride in a songwriter who beat the Fab Four's record. Silly Hamer trivia: Both John and Paul both had Hamers made for them, but they certainly weren't seen much with them.

As for guitar on those songs, a few of them do-the Pink, Adam Lambert and Kelly Clarkson ones do and they are some of the only pop tunes that use feedback (albeit very processed).

zenmindbeginner Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 You guys are walking trivia machines! We do it all for you, my friend! Seriously though... y'all's knowledge of "all things guitar" never ceases to amaze me. It's a beautiful thing.

Disturber Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 Little known fact about Max Martin is that he was originally a singer in a hardrock band called It's Alive. He is a killer vocalist, don't know about his guitar playing skills though. The "his face on a Hamer" thing was a joke, as stated by Mr C Matthes.
gorch Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Definitely one of the biggest names in pop business. Pink's songs are partly guitar oriented. He can't be that bad.
