P90 Suggestions for Special Korina Jr.

I'm looking to replace the Duncan Custom SP-3 in my Special Korina Jr. It seems a quite a bit dead to me especially when comparing it to the Pearly Gates bridge in my Studio. The PG has way more highend and sparkle than the SP-3. The guitar is acoustically very lively and snappy.

After listening to some sound clips I'm liking the Lollar 50's wind and Standard wind. I like the zing of the '50's wind but also see the merits of the Standard wind.

What are other Jr. owners using?

Well, everyone who has tried them raves about Lollar's P90s, although I haven't played them myself. I've got a set of Rio Grandes in my Artist Korina and they sound great. I've also heard that older Gibson P90s are still some of the best out there, if you can source them.

I own an older Lollar, a couple of different Fralins (2nd best) and now my pinnacle is the Wolftone 'Meaner' The Tonequest Report just named the Wolftone as their best and it does live up to that.

The SP-3 DEAD? That doesn't sound right. It has to be the most 'tear your face off" pickup I own in any guitar. Maybe it's got some issues in the winding?

Veatch's comparison is great! I like the Rio's gnarly character but like that the Lollars and Fralins have a wide dynamic rage. The Wolfetones sound interesting. I will have to look into them more.

I've heard some raves about the SP-3 but this particular one's just not working for me.

Thanks for the great input!
